La Torisienne

Black Sangallo

Oggi, con mio fratello Lorenzo, mio “fotografo personale”, mi sono recata sulle colline di Laigueglia, un piccolo paesino della Liguria, dove da sempre trascorro le vacanze estive, e ho scattato alcune foto.

Ho scelto di indossare questo abitino di sangallo nero, che si è rivelato veramente un buon acquisto. Infatti, se la spiaggia in cui abbiamo scelto di andare è particolarmente elegante, lo si può portare come copricostume senza sfigurare. Ma non solo. Per fare shopping in luoghi come Portofino, St Tropez o Capri è perfetto. Come lo è per un aperitivo al tramonto in riva al mare.

Un imperativo categorico sono le scarpe basse. Sandali, ballerine o espadrillas, scarpe di ogni tipo, purchè rasoterra. I tacchi sarebbero fuori luogo, no?

Today, with my brother Lorenzo, my “personal photographer”, I’ve reached the top of the hills around Laigueglia, a little village in Liguria, where I’ve always come for my summer holidays, and I’ve taken some photos.

I chose to wear a little Sangallo black dress, a very good purchase. In fact, if the beach where we’ve decided to go is particularly elegant, it would be perfect on a bikini. But that’s not all. Wearing it would be a right choice also to go shopping in Portofino, St Tropez or Capri and for the happy hour on the beach.

High heels are forbidden. Sandals, flats or espadrillas are the best choice.

La marinière

Da sempre adoro la marinière, la maglietta di cotone a righe bianche e blu. La si porta su tutto, in ogni occasione. Questo è uno di quei capi che non può mai mancare nell’armadio di una Torisienne. Infatti è un passpartout.
Ovviamente possedevo la classica Petit Bateau, ma, purtroppo, un lavaggio sfortunato mi ha costretto ad eliminarla. Per di più, negli store del marchio francese non ne ho più trovata una uguale. Ma ci credete??
Per fortuna, ho scovato questa t-shirt di Ralph Lauren Denim & Supply che faceva al caso mio e non me la sono lasciata scappare.
Apparirà scontato, ma qual posto migliore per indossarla se non al mare e magari al tramonto di ritorno da una gita in barca?

I’ve always loved la marinière, the t-shirt with white and blue stripes. You can put it on everything, anytime. This is one of the garments which can never miss in a Torisienne’s wardrobe. In fact it’s a passpartout.
Obviously, I had the classical Petit Bateau t-shirt, but a bad wash made me throw it away. What’s more, I’ve never found another similar again, in the stores of the French brand. Impossible, isn’t it??
Luckily, I’ve found out this Ralph Lauren Denim & Supply t-shirt which was perfect and I immediately bought it.
Maybe it’s obvious, but is there a place, where to wear la marinière, better than the seaside or than a yacht at the sunset?

Must have fw 2012-2013

Ogni anno, nel numero di agosto delle principali (ma diciamo pure tutte) riviste di moda, è incluso il prezioso inserto dedicato alle sfilate autunno-inverno. Dico prezioso perché, per la vera Torisienne, queste poche pagine rappresentano un’utile consolazione per la triste fine dell’estate e un fidato manuale d’istruzioni per affrontare con stile le fredde e grigie stagioni che incombono. Tuttavia, autunno e inverno non sono tristi e cupi. Tutt’altro! Per me che adoro sciare sono forse il periodo migliore. Per non parlare della moda: in quali altri momenti si possono indossare così tanti indumenti insieme?? D’estate con un bikini (e poco altro) si è perfette, ma è proprio durante i mesi più freddi che la vera eleganza si dimostra.

Prima di postare i miei outfit di un’estate, ahimè, più che travagliata, provo a stilare una lista di must have e idee, rubate alle sfilate fw 2012-2013, che nei look della vera Torisienne non possono assolutamente mancare.

Every year, the August issue of the main (but let's say all) fashion magazines includes a valuable insert dedicated to fall-winter fashion shows. I say valuable because, for the true Torisienne, these few pages are a useful consolation to the sad end of summer and a trusted guide to deal with the cold and grey seasons ahead. However, autumn and winter are not sad and gloomy. Far from it! For me, that I love skiing, these months are probably the best. In which other period can you wear so many clothes together? During the summer holidays, with just a bikini (and little else) you are perfect, but true elegance is showed in the coldest seasons.

Before posting my summer outfits, I try to make a list of the must haves and the ideas, stolen from the fw 2012-2013 fashion shows, which can’t miss in the true Torisienne’s wardrobe.

Un capo che adoro da sempre e che (per fortuna) non sembra mai passare di moda è la giacca militare. Quasi una divisa da non lasciare mai, quest’anno la si trova dappertutto e la si può portare veramente su ogni cosa.

An item I’ve always loved and that (thankfully) never seems to go out of style is the military jacket . Almost like a uniform to wear every day, this year it is really found anywhere.

Un altro dettaglio che, da qualche stagione, fa da padrone nelle collezioni di molti stilisti è il pizzo, declinato nelle forme più diverse, dal supersexy effetto vedo-non-vedo alla variante baby, passando sempre dal casual chic.

Il 2012 segna anche il ritorno del nero (ma se ne era mai andato veramente dai nostri guardaroba? Non barate!). Riappare soprattutto sui long dress da sera da moderne Audrey Hepburn, perfetti per uscire da un party all’alba e ritrovarsi a far colazione davanti alle vetrine di Tiffany & Co.

2012 also marks the return of black (but has it really ever left our wardrobes? Be honest!). It reappears especially on long evening dress, perfect for leaving a party at dawn and finding yourself having breakfast before the windows of Tiffany & Co, like a modern Audrey Hepburn.

Le Olimpiadi inoltre hanno influenzato non poco i designer. Molte sono le collezioni all’insegna della praticità e del comfort, ma senza dimenticare lo stile, in perfetto sport style.

Per finire: la giacca chanel. Ha da poco fatto gli anni e non sembra mai vedere il tramonto questa geniale idea di mademoiselle Coco. Karl Lagerfeld la decora con quarzi e cristalli e la accompagna con morbide sciarpe ed un make up futuristico.

Finally: the Chanel jacket . Now it’s 50, but this brillian creation by Mademoiselle Coco never seems to see the sunset. Karl Lagerfeld decorates it with quartz crystals and soft scarves.
