Call me hipsta if you want

Le "sciure" storceranno il naso.
"Indossare la gonna con le sneakers? Con le Vans, poi??" (verso di disgusto in sottofondo).
E sì, alcune ragazze sono delle "sciure" fatte e finite già a vent'anni.
Mai un capello fuori posto. Mai fuori casa senza scarpe e borsa coordinate (orrore!). Mai senza tacchi.
Qualcuno glielo dica che non sono eleganti, ma solo noiose!!! -.- Ok: lo faccio io!
Ma chi ve lo fa fare di stare tutto il giorno coi piedi costretti in un paio di morse? E trattenere il respiro in assurde camicette e giacche super avvitate? No, io non ci sto. Gli anni in cui dovremo rimanere chiuse in ufficio da mattina a sera arriveranno, ora... relax!
Chiamatemi hipster (o meglio hipsta!) se volete, ma intanto restate connesse!

Would anyone tell them they're not elegant, just boring? -.- Ok, I'll do it by myself!
Why hurting our feet all the day long inside uncomfortable shoes? And stopping breathing because of a too little blazer and an absurd blouse? No, I won't say yes to this. The years of work in an office are yet to come, now... relax, please!

La Torisienne above the sea of fog

Vento che agita le acque, pioggia incessante che, ticchettando, scandisce il tempo, freddo umido che ti entra nelle ossa, sguardo perso e impotenza di fronte alla tempesta... Questo è ciò che si percepisce davanti al mare d'inverno. Una muto e inquieto senso d'inferiorità rispetto ad un panorama selvaggio che neanche il "Viandante sul mare di nebbia" di Friedrich... 

Peccato che non sia più inverno. 

Peccato che il Romanticismo sia un periodo artistico ormai passato. 

Peccato, soprattutto, che queste cattive condizioni del tempo abbiano compromesso il ponte del 25 aprile per la maggior parte degli italiani...

Nonostante le digressioni sul meteo, che, ahimè, non possiamo ancora controllare, ecco un outfit nuovo nuovo. Questa volta, oltre ad alcuni accessori inediti, c'è una novità. Un occhio (è il caso di dirlo) in più al make-up. 

Spero che l'effetto smoky eyes blu che volevo creare vi piaccia..

It's a pity that we're not in winter anymore.

It's a pity that Romanticism is an artistic period passed and buried by now.

It's a pity, above all, that these bad weather conditions have ruined the 25th April long weekend to most Italian people...

Despite my digressions on weather, that nowadays we still can't control, here it is a new outfit. This time, besides some accessories, there's another news. A special consideration for make-up.

I hope you like the blue smoky eyes effect I tried to create.

An orange juice, please!

È qualche stagione, ormai, che gli stilisti ci propongono i colori fluo, costruendoci attorno intere collezioni. Ma optare per total look in bilico tra rosa shocking e verde acido, per me, è un po' esagerato. 

Per fortuna ci sono gli accessori!! Grandi o piccoli dettagli che accendono (letteralmente!) anche il più semplice e cupo degli outfit.

Il colore che ho scelto, in questo caso, è l'arancio. Fresco, estivo, divertente, diventa protagonista senza strafare. 

La sfumatura più chic? Di certo quella delle borse Hermès! In attesa della mia Birkin (un giorno sarà mia, lo giuro!), scelgo un look "easy", da weekend, con tanto di felpa e maxi bag.

Designers have been presenting collections full of neon colours for some seasons by now. But choosing total looks between shocking pink and acid green, according to me, is a bit too much.

Luckily, we have accessories (God save them!). Big or small details who litterally light up even the darkest and most simple outfit.

The colour I've chosen, now, is orange. Fresh, summery, funny, it becomes the absolute protagonist without exaggerating.

The smartest shade? The one which covers Hermès bags! Waiting for my Birkin (one day, it'll be mine, I swear!), I opted for an "easy" look, perfect for the weekend: just a sweatshirt and and maxi bag.

Spring? Just on my pants

Ma è possibile che, a inizio aprile e a Pasqua ormai passata, la primavera stenti ancora ad arrivare??

Il freddo non sembra più voler dar tregua, tuttavia, l'orologio della moda continua a ticchettare e io, personalmente, non ne posso più di piumini, cappelli e Ugg!

Non vedo l'ora di sfoggiare i nuovi look primaverili che mi guardano invitanti dall'armadio. E l'outfit che ho scelto ne è un assaggio.

Il parka diventa più leggero e si ingentilisce con applicazioni sparkling, i bijoux assumono tinte più tenui e sui pantaloni di tela fioriscono rose e margherite.

Can you believe that spring hasn't already come? It's April and Easter has passed but cold doesn't want to leave us. Though, fashion clock keeps on ticking and let me say I'm totally fed up of duvet coats, hats and Ugg boots!

I can't wait to wear the new spring garments that look at me so inviting from the wardrobe. The outfit I chose is one of them.

The Parka becomes lighter and more girlish with some crystal decorations, jewelry has brighter colours and the canvas pants seem a perfumed garden, full of roses and daisies.

Staying warm in the mountains...

These days, it's very cold here in northern Italy. This week will be the coldest of all the winter season!! The must-do is: cover up and stay warm! 

In these photos, I'm in the mountains, precisely in Bardonecchia, where I pass almost all my weekends, and I think  the look i've chosen is quite appropriate for the place and the weather.

A thick knitted sweater, a light and soft duvet jacket and a fur and leather bag are the absolute protagonists of the outfit.

Shine bright like a diamond...

Ci sono quei periodi in cui indosseremmo sempre gli stessi vestiti. Che ci piacciano, ci valorizzino o altro, poco importa. Non potremmo farne a meno e li eleggiamo a nostra divisa quotidiana.

Anche a me succede, di questi tempi. Skinny jeans blu notte, sciarpone, felpa, cappottino stile navy e sneakers. Niente di più semplice e comodo. 

Vestire casual non è una moda, ma una necessità, per chi, come me, è fuori casa spesso tutto il giorno. 

Ciò che fa la differenza sono i dettagli (di nuovo!). 

Il medaglione ex-voto portafortuna, il bracciale giusto, l'it bag passepartout, ma, soprattutto, i mega strass sulle spalle. Sono loro i veri protagonisti. Lì per farti brillare, come nella canzone di Rihanna, o per ricordare a tutti che "diamonds are a girl's best friends", come diceva Marilyn Monroe. Unica nota stonata?? Doverli coprire con un cappotto. Ma, si sa, col freddo non si scherza. Brrr...

Sometimes we'd wear always the same clothes. It doesn't matter if we like them particularly or if they make us more beautiful: we just can't give up putting them on, because they become our everyday uniform!! 

It's happening even to me, these days. Dark blue skinny jeans, a big and soft scarf, a sweatshirt, a peacoat and a pair of sneakers. Nothing's easier and more comfortable!

To wear casual items is not a trend, is a necessity, for those who, like me, stay out often all the day long!

What makes the difference are details (again!).

The portebonheur pendant, the right bracelet, the passepartout it bag, ma, particularly, the big fake diamonds on the shoulders. They are the protagonists of the outfit. There to make you shine, like in Rihanna's song, or to make no one forget that  "diamonds are a girl's best friends", as Marilyn Monroe usually said. What's the only one wrong thing? I have to cover them with a coat: it's too cold to stand without it on. Brrr...

Me like the Queen B

Dopo tanti (troppi!!) giorni senza pubblicare alcun post (causa scuola e malattie varie), eccone uno nuovo nuovo!!

Per questo outfit, mi sono lasciata ispirare dalla mia serie tv preferita, Gossip Girl, e, in particolare dal personaggio di Blair Waldorf. 

Headband di cristalli, pizzi, collant decorati e vestitino bon ton: come la regina B, sarei pronta per macchinare intrighi e organizzare party super. Peccato che io non sia nell'Upper East Side a Manhattan... :(

Bisogna mettersi al lavoro per questo!!

After (too) many days without posting anything (the fault is all of school and flu), here it is a new post!!

For this outfit, my favourite serial, Gossip Girl, and, in particular, the character of Blair Waldorf inspired me.

A sparkling headband, lace, decorated tights and a bon ton dress: like queen B, I'd be ready to plot intrigues and to organize super parties. What a pity that I'm not in the Upper East Side of Manhattan... :( 

I have to work hard for this!!

Questo è, in assicuro, uno dei miei outfit preferiti. Nessun altro, dei look di questo blog, può essergli paragonato. "Perchè?", direte. Non è né elegante nè troppo particolare o ricercato... 

Mi piace perchè è un compendio perfetto dei capi e degli accessori a cui sono più legata.

La giacchina senza collo alla Coco in felpa, per esempio, è per me un vero passe-partout: ne ho diverse (posso quasi affermare di possederne una collezione!) e le abbino sempre su tutto e in mille modi. Sono come una seconda pelle per me! [Guarda anche questo post.]  

Che dire dei top decorati con perline o strass? Indossando uno di questi si è perfette e non serve altro (fili e fili di collane sarebbero solo fuori posto!!). Inoltre, sono ideali per chi viaggia. Mettendone uno in valigia, infatti, si fa la scelta vincente: non si rischia che preziosi gioielli appesantiscano il bagaglio o, peggio, vadano persi. Fidatevi: un capo come questo è un investimento fortunato. [Guarda anche questo post.]   

Della mia amata Falabella di Stella McCartney ho sicuramente già parlato: la adoro! [Guarda anche questo post.] Non mi resta, quindi, che rivolgere le mia attenzione ai miei immancabili bracciali d'argento. Li porto praticamente sempre ed ognuno è legato ad un avvenimento speciale.

This is one of my favourite outfits at all. No other of this blog is better for me. "Why?", you would say. It's neither elegant nor particularly glamourous... I like it because it's a perfect synthesis of the items and the accessories I love the most. 

The little Coco inspired jacket, for example, is a real passe-partout for me: I've got some (almost a collection, actually!) and I always wear it on everything in very different ways. They're like a second skin for me!! [Look also this post.]  

What about the crystals and pearls embroidered hank tops? Wearing one of them, you don't need anything else to be perfect. They're also ideal for travellers. Putting one in your suitcase, you would do the right choice: you wouldn't risk to have a too heavy luggage or, worse, to lose your precious jewels. Trust me: an item like this is a lucky investment. Look also this post.]   

I've surely already talked about my beloved  Falabella by Stella McCartney bag : I adore it! [Look also this post.] At the end, my attention focuses on my silver bracelets. I almost always wear them and everyone is bound to a special occasion.

Autumn anticipation... Burgundy

L'autunno è iniziato e, anche se qui fa ancora caldo, io non posso proprio permettermi di rinunciare ai trend di questa stagione solamente perchè alla colonnina di mercurio piace salire oltre i 20 gradi!! Mi toccherà resistere stoicamente... Ma, d'altronde, che cosa non si fa per la moda?!

Il comune denominatore delle collezioni fw 2012-2013 è sicuramente il bordeaux. Quel colore non colore che, a pensarci bene, sta proprio bene con tutto. Più originale degli strausati nero-grigio-blu, meno sfacciata del rosso e del rosa shocking, ma non meno glamour, questa tinta, se ora non vi entusiasma, vi conquisterà col tempo (e grazie alle vetrine dei negozi). Prugna, burgundy, granata (soprattutto a Torino), magenta... Sono molti i nomi che vengono dati a questo colore, ma, alla fine, che cambia? Sfumatura più, sfumatura meno, la sostanza non cambia: bisogna averlo nel proprio armadio (su che capo, decidetelo voi: c'è l'imbarazzo della scelta)!

Per questo, appena ho visto questa lunga gonna plissè in un negozio, non ho potuto fare a meno di entrare e farla subito mia. Lo so, è presto per dirlo, ma sono sicura che la utilizzerò molte volte, e in situazioni diversissime. Perciò, seguitemi!

Come potete vedere, la bordeaux-mania ha colpito anche i mie accessori, come la mia amata Falabella by Stella McCartney e non solo... (post in progress).

Fall has begun and, even though here it's still hot, I can't renounce to the seasonal trends!! I'll must stoicly resist the heat. What is not done for fashion?!

The main character of the fw 2012-2013 collections is burgundy, a perfect with everything colour. Trendier than the usual black-grey-blue group, easier than red and shocking pink, but not less glamourous, this colour will make you fall in love with it.

This is what happened to me because, when I saw this beautiful long plissè skirt, I immediately felt "called by it" into the shop. In few minutes, the skirt became mine. I know it's early to say it, but I really think I'll use it many different times. So, follow me! 

As you can see, the burgundy-mania reached my accessories too: my beloved Falabella bag by Stella McCartney is just one of them... (post in progress).

Just a leopard touch...

Premettendo che considero l'animalier all over un'esagerazione e un affronto al buon gusto, non penso ci sia niente di male nell'adottare un tocco wild nei propri look. Anche se questa scelta, poco tempo fa, poteva provocare smorfie di disapprovazione nelle rigorose signorine perbene, ora non sconvolge affatto. Anzi, la  celebre stampa leopardo è diventata un classico (come il camouflage, per intenderci).

Lo ammetto: ho comprato queste ballerine circa due anni fa e non ho mai avuto il coraggio di indossarle (chissà perchè poi!). Ora, però, è arrivato il tempo di tirare fuori gli artigli (è il caso di dirlo).

In fondo, l'animalier può essere facilmente smorzato. Da un jeans e un trench, per esempio, capi di cui non posso fare proprio a meno! Per non parlare del pizzo. Cosa c'è di più femminile e romantico del pizzo per addolcire un outfit altrimenti troppo wild o sportivo?

Granted that, according to me, animalier style all over is an exaggeration and an affront to good taste, I don't think adopting a wild touch in your own looks is a bag thing. Despite, some years ago, this choice could cause disfavour in respectable girls, nowadays, it doesn't shock anyone. On the contrary, leopard pattern has become a classic item (exactly like camouflage).       

I admit it: I bought these flats about two years ago and I've never been enough brave to wear them (I don't even know why!). Now, though, the time to dare has come!

Animalier pattern is easy to dim. With a good pair of jeans or a trench, for example, items which can't miss in a Torisienne's wardrobe! And what about lace? Is there a more girlish and romantic than it to make sweetier too wild or sporty outfits?

Not just a happy (pink) hour

Ecco un look glamour, comodo, ma soprattutto versatile. Elegante senza esserlo troppo e sparkling, pur mantenendo un basso profilo, è perfetto in diverse occasioni: aperitivo, cena, lavoro e scuola sono solo alcune...

Il jeans sdrammatizza ogni outfit, è vero, ma qui non è il solo. La giacca è rilassata al punto giusto, il top un incontro tra pizzi cangianti e sportivo jersey grigio, le scarpe luccicanti, sì, ma pur sempre flat. 

Grande assente? La borsa... Qui la scelta è condizionata dalle circostanze. Pochette-gioiello per la sera, tracollina per il giorno e, se proprio non ne si può fare a meno, una mega shopping per portarsi dietro tutto, compromettendo però la salute della nostra povera schiena.

Here it is a glamour, comfortable, but, above all, versatile look. Elegant, without being it too much, and sparkling, but also sporty, it's perfect for different occasions: happy hour, dinner, work, school are just few of them.

A pair of jeans downplays every outfit, it's true, but it's not the only one. The blazer is relaxed at the right point, the hank top is a meeting between lace and sporty grey jersey, shoes are covered by crystals, sure, but they're superflat.

The big absent? The bag... For this one, the choice is conditioned by the occasion. Jewel-clutch for the night and a big shopping for our busy days of work.

Casual chic on the hills

Oggi ho deciso di dedicare un post a Torino. A parte l'articolo di presentazione al blog, infatti, non ho quasi mai citato la città, a cui ho deciso di dedicare gran parte del sito: ho dovuto rimediare!

Come sfondo per le mie foto, ho scelto due dei luoghi più suggestivi della collina torinese: il Monte dei Cappuccini  e Villa della Regina.

Il mio outfit può essere considerato elegante e casual al tempo stesso.

I biker e la giacca sartoriale sapientemente stropicciata rendono il tutto più rilassato e stemperano l'allure bon ton dell'abito e della borsa icona di Fendi, la Baguette, che ha spento da poco ben 15 candeline. 

Perfetto per un cocktail come per una passeggiata in centro, questo look è molto versatile e può assumere  caratteri diversi a seconda degli accessori.

Today I've decided to dedicate a post to Turin. In fact, despite the presentation of the blog, I'va almost never talked about the city to which I dedicate my web site.

As background for my photos, I chose two of my favourite places on the hills around Turin: Monte dei Cappuccini  and Villa della Regina. 

My outfit can be considered elegant and casual at the same time.

The biker boots and the blazer ease the bon ton allure of the dress and of the Baguette, the icon bag by Fendi, which is 15 for few months.

Perfect for a cocktail or for a walk , this look becomes different depending on the accessories.

Making a wish looking at the falling stars

È risaputo: il bianco sulla pelle abbronzata sta benissimo.

Fortunatamente, d’estate, anche la mia carnagione (chiara, ahimè, per il resto dell’anno) assume un colorito ambrato e mi permette di indossare tinte più luminose e tenui come il panna o il rosa pallido.

Oggi è S. Lorenzo e per andare a vedere le stelle che cadono ed esprimere un desiderio, ho scelto di indossare questo lungo abito avorio.

L’ho  messo, per la prima volta, in Sardegna, durante il viaggio di maturità che ho fatto a luglio con le mie amiche e ormai ex compagne di scuola. Una di loro mi ha subito detto che sembravo una sposa. Ma io ho pensato: e che male ci sarebbe? Io comunque mi sentivo una principessa. Avete notato che nessuna delle eroine delle fiabe che adoravamo da piccole porta un abito corto?

Io questo long dress lo adoro. Ditemi cosa ne pensate!!

It’s well known: white is perfect on tanned skin.

Luckily, during the summer, also my complexion (that is pale for the rest of the year)  becomes amber and lets me put on lighter colours like cream or pale pink.

Today is Saint Lawrence and to go to see the falling stars and to make a wish, I’ve decided to wear long ivory dress.

I put it on, for the first time, in Sardinia, during a holiday with my friends, now my ex schoolfellows after the exams. One of them said I seemed a bride. However, I felt like a princess. Have you ever noticed the protagonists of the fairytales we loved  when we were little girls always wear long dresses?

I particularly love this one. Now tell me what you think about it!!

Black Sangallo

Oggi, con mio fratello Lorenzo, mio “fotografo personale”, mi sono recata sulle colline di Laigueglia, un piccolo paesino della Liguria, dove da sempre trascorro le vacanze estive, e ho scattato alcune foto.

Ho scelto di indossare questo abitino di sangallo nero, che si è rivelato veramente un  buon acquisto. Infatti, se la spiaggia in cui abbiamo scelto di andare è particolarmente elegante, lo si può portare come copricostume senza sfigurare. Ma non solo. Per fare shopping in luoghi come Portofino, St Tropez o Capri è perfetto. Come lo è per un aperitivo al tramonto in riva al mare.

Un imperativo categorico sono le scarpe basse. Sandali, ballerine o espadrillas, scarpe di ogni tipo, purchè rasoterra. I tacchi sarebbero fuori luogo, no?

Today, with my brother Lorenzo, my “personal photographer”, I’ve reached the top of the hills around Laigueglia, a little village in Liguria, where I’ve always come for my summer holidays, and I’ve taken some photos.

I chose to wear a little Sangallo black dress, a very good purchase. In fact, if the beach where we’ve decided to go is particularly elegant, it would be perfect on a bikini. But that’s not all. Wearing it would be a right choice also to go shopping  in  Portofino, St Tropez or Capri and for the happy hour on the beach.

High heels are forbidden. Sandals, flats or espadrillas are the best choice.

La marinière

Da sempre adoro la marinière, la maglietta di cotone a righe bianche e blu. La si porta su tutto, in ogni occasione. Questo è uno di quei capi che non può mai mancare nell’armadio di una Torisienne. Infatti è un passpartout.
Ovviamente possedevo la classica Petit Bateau, ma, purtroppo, un lavaggio sfortunato mi ha costretto ad eliminarla. Per di più, negli store del marchio francese non ne ho più trovata una uguale. Ma ci credete??
Per fortuna, ho scovato questa t-shirt di Ralph Lauren Denim & Supply che faceva al caso mio e non me la sono lasciata scappare.
Apparirà scontato, ma qual posto migliore per indossarla se non al mare e magari al tramonto di ritorno da una gita in barca?

I’ve always loved  la marinière, the t-shirt with white and blue stripes. You can put it on everything, anytime. This is one of the garments which can never miss in a Torisienne’s wardrobe. In fact it’s a passpartout.
Obviously, I had the classical Petit Bateau t-shirt, but a bad wash made me throw it away. What’s more, I’ve never found another similar again, in the stores of the French brand. Impossible, isn’t it??
Luckily, I’ve found out this Ralph Lauren Denim & Supply t-shirt which was perfect and I immediately bought it.
Maybe it’s obvious, but is there a place, where to wear la marinière, better than the seaside or than a yacht at the sunset?
