Call me hipsta if you want

Le "sciure" storceranno il naso.
"Indossare la gonna con le sneakers? Con le Vans, poi??" (verso di disgusto in sottofondo).
E sì, alcune ragazze sono delle "sciure" fatte e finite già a vent'anni.
Mai un capello fuori posto. Mai fuori casa senza scarpe e borsa coordinate (orrore!). Mai senza tacchi.
Qualcuno glielo dica che non sono eleganti, ma solo noiose!!! -.- Ok: lo faccio io!
Ma chi ve lo fa fare di stare tutto il giorno coi piedi costretti in un paio di morse? E trattenere il respiro in assurde camicette e giacche super avvitate? No, io non ci sto. Gli anni in cui dovremo rimanere chiuse in ufficio da mattina a sera arriveranno, ora... relax!
Chiamatemi hipster (o meglio hipsta!) se volete, ma intanto restate connesse!

Why hurting our feet all the day long inside uncomfortable shoes? And stopping breathing because of a too little blazer and an absurd blouse? No, I won't say yes to this. The years of work in an office are yet to come, now... relax, please!

Black and lace - La Tesoriera

Un'infinita serie di impegni mi ha tenuta lontana, per tutto questo tempo (troppo!), dal blog. Ma ora sono finalmente libera di tornare a dedicarmici come desidero.
Queste foto sono state scattate nell'incantevole cornice del Parco della Tesoriera, a Torino (ça va sans dire!), in un momento di tregua tra un temporale e un'ondata di caldo africano. -.-
Ho scelto un outfit fresco e comodo, perfetto, secondo me, per questo periodo. Perchè, nonostante le alte temperature, dobbiamo ricordare che rimaniamo sempre in città: non siamo ancora al mare!!

I've been very busy the month which just passed, but, now, at last, I'm free to come back working on my blog again.
These photos have been taken in Parco della Tesoriera, in Turin (ça va sans dire!), in a little break between storms and African heat waves. -.-
I chose a light and comfortable outfit, that's perfect for this period, according to me. In fact, despite the heat, we mustn't forget we're still in a city, not yet at the seaside!!

La Torisienne above the sea of fog

Vento che agita le acque, pioggia incessante che, ticchettando, scandisce il tempo, freddo umido che ti entra nelle ossa, sguardo perso e impotenza di fronte alla tempesta... Questo è ciò che si percepisce davanti al mare d'inverno. Una muto e inquieto senso d'inferiorità rispetto ad un panorama selvaggio che neanche il "Viandante sul mare di nebbia" di Friedrich... 

Peccato che non sia più inverno. 

Peccato che il Romanticismo sia un periodo artistico ormai passato. 

Peccato, soprattutto, che queste cattive condizioni del tempo abbiano compromesso il ponte del 25 aprile per la maggior parte degli italiani...

Nonostante le digressioni sul meteo, che, ahimè, non possiamo ancora controllare, ecco un outfit nuovo nuovo. Questa volta, oltre ad alcuni accessori inediti, c'è una novità. Un occhio (è il caso di dirlo) in più al make-up. 

Spero che l'effetto smoky eyes blu che volevo creare vi piaccia..

A silent and anxious inferiority complex as opposed to a wild enviroment like the one felt by the "Wanderer above the sea of fog" by Friedrich...

It's a pity that we're not in winter anymore.

It's a pity that Romanticism is an artistic period passed and buried by now.

It's a pity, above all, that these bad weather conditions have ruined the 25th April long weekend to most Italian people...

Despite my digressions on weather, that nowadays we still can't control, here it is a new outfit. This time, besides some accessories, there's another news. A special consideration for make-up.

Focus on bijoux: Tomoko Tokuda

Incontro Tomoko Tokuda a Milano, all'Opificio 31 di via Tortona, in occasione del Fuori Salone Design Week 2013. Nata a Tokyo, ma milanese d'adozione, mi racconta la sua storia.

Fu una scatola ricoperta di polvere e scovata sulla bancarella di un mercatino d'antiquariato a ispirarla.

Lo scrigno racchiudeva, infatti, quei vecchi orologi da polso, ormai fermi, fuori moda o visibilmente rovinati che, di lì a poco, sarebbero diventati i suoi migliori amici.

Tomoko si chiese subito se potesse in qualche modo trovar loro una sistemazione, dar loro una nuova vita. Chi ama il vintage capirà perfettamente tale esigenza. 

Gli oggetti antichi hanno un fascino diverso. Raccontano le storie di chi li ha posseduti; rimandano ad epoche diverse, talvolta lontane e magari migliori; evocano ricordi e memorie del tempo che fu... Insomma, hanno un'anima che va fatta rivivere.

Inizialmente, avendo studiato moda, pensò di cucire i quadranti, colorati e dalle forme rétro, abilmente smontati e ripuliti, sulle T-shirt della maison per cui lavorava. Tuttavia, l'idea della poca praticità che questi capi potessero avere e il desiderio di creare un brand tutto suo, la portarono a considerare l'idea di creare bijoux.

E così, nel 2006, nacquero i gioielli Tomoko Tokuda.

Bracciali, anelli, collane e orecchini per i quali il tempo sembra essersi fermato: ingranaggi e lancette non sono mai stati così glamour!

La vera sfida per Tomoko è stato imparare da zero qualcosa di cui sapeva poco o niente. Ma, forse, questo è anche stato il suo punto di forza. Ignorare le regole e le tecniche della gioielleria non ha, infatti, posto limiti alla sua creatività, permettendole di innovare e creare bijoux del tutto inediti ed originali.

Ancora oggi, come il primo giorno, realizza ogni pezzo a mano e non intende farsi aiutare, perchè - mi sottolinea più volte - ciò che porta il suo nome deve passare solo dalle sue mani ed essere "suo" al 100%.

Fino a domani espone, nello spazio a lei dedicato dal Fuori Salone Design Week di Milano (via tortona 31), la sua ultima collezione.

I meet Tomoko Tokuda in Milan, at Opificio 31 (Via Tortona 31), for the Fuori Salone Design Week 2013. Born in Tokyo, but grown between France and Milan, she tells me her story.

A box covered of dust, found among the stands of an antique market, inspired her.

It was full of old watches, the ones which would have become her best friends.

Tomoko immediately asked herself if she could give them another placement, a new life. Who loves vintage things would understand this need easily.

Ancient objects have a special appeal.They tell their owners' stories, make you think of far ages and evocate memories of the past... In a few words, they have a soul which needs to live again.

At first, having studied fashion, she thought of sewing the colured and rètro shaped quadrants on clothes. But then, reflecting about the less practicality of these items and wondering about an own brand of hers, she decided to create bijoux.

So, in 2006, Tomoko Tokuda jewels were born. 

Bracelets, rings, necklaces and earrings out of time: needles and mechanisms have never been so glamourous!

The hard thing for Tomoko was learning from the beginning something she really didn't know. But it was also her force: ignoring the jewellery techniques and rules, allowed her to have no limits in creativity and create new and original items.

Still today, like the first times, her jewels are hand made and she doesn't want any help: things under her name must be "hers" at 100%.

Until tomorrow, she exhibits her last collection in the area dedicated to her by the Milan Fuori Salone Design Week.

Looking for inspiration... Fur + Coco duvet

Quando si è in cerca dell'ispirazione (per una poesia, un articolo, un look, o semplicemente per un biglietto di auguri), questa sembra non volersi far trovare mai. 

Ma ecco che, proprio quando pare persa ogni speranza e si inizia a mettere da parte le velleità "artistiche", il lampo di genio, il barlume di fantasia e l'estro creativo ti investono come se niente fosse, all'improvviso. 

Un po' come l'amore, no? Basta smettere di cercarlo... et voilà!   

Così è successo a me ieri, quando, malata e sola in casa, pensavo a un nuovo look da postare qui sul blog... Usare un semplice appendiabiti e alcuni dei miei ultimi acquisti è stato facile e divertente.  

Ora che fa ancora freddo - e continua a nevicare - abbino il soffice e leggero piumino à la Coco con un caldo gilet di volpe. Per completare il tutto: una morbida pashmina (quale delle due preferite?), la mia it-bag preferita, un paio di occhiali da gatta e bijoux sparkling.

When you look for inspiration (for a sonet, a column, a look, or simply for a greeting card), it seems to run far away.

But, when you stop your search, because hope seems gone, immediately, the brainwave, the flair comes to you and crushes your senses. 

Exactly like love! To stop looking for it is enough...

So it happened to me yesterday, while, ill and all alone at home, I was thinking of a new look to post on my blog... It was easy to use a simple hanger and some of my latest purchases.

Now that it's still cold - and it keeps on snowing - I combine the soft and Coco-styled duvet with a warm fox fur waistcoat. To complete the outfit, I'd add a pashmina (choose your favourite!), my favourite it-bag, a pair of cat-eye sunglasses and sparkling jewels.

FW front row inspiration

Dopo New York, Londra e Milano, questa settimana tocca a Parigi ospitare gli eventi fashion più cool e attesi dell'anno.
Le sfilate delle collezioni autunno-inverno 2013-2014 sono in corso e il web e gli addetti ai lavori sono in fermento. Immortalare i prossimi trend è una questione di vita o di morte.
Ma le modelle in passerella non sono le uniche sotto i riflettori.
Le vere protagoniste si confondono tra il pubblico variopinto (e super vip!) che affolla i front row.
Sono quelle creature quasi magiche in grado, solamente con il proprio look, di far passare lo show in secondo piano. Quelle che i blogger sgomitano per fotografare. Sono modelle off-duty, attrici, fashion editor, it girls... Chiamatele come volete, ma sono loro le vere icone del nostro tempo, nonchè assolute protagoniste di questi eventi.
Quest'anno, tuttavia, qualcosa in loro stona. Come si fa, dico io, a posare a -10 gradi senza calze in abiti corti e leggeri? E magari sotto qualche fiocco di neve che cade per completare il quadro?
Va bene che, in questi casi, una fashion icon che si rispetti è tenuta ad indossare pezzi delle collezioni della prossima primavera-estate, perchè la stagione corrente è ormai out, ma non sarà troppo? Sono d'accordo con Garance Dorè: non è per niente "trending" indossare abiti inappropriati all'occasione. Così come non lo è affatto battere i denti davanti all'ingresso di una sfilata!!
Il freddo è un ostacolo che in questi casi si può tranquillamente aggirare!
Bastano un pizzico di stile e molta fantasia.
Tessuti morbidi e preziosi in cui avvolgerci, come in un caldo abbraccio, ce ne sono a bizzeffe. Saperli mixare ed accostare nel modo giusto è la sfida!

After New York, London and Milan, this week, the coolest and most waited fashion events of the year
take place in Paris.
2013-2014 fall-winter collections fashion shows are on and bloggers and journalists have one aim: to take note of the next trends!
Although, models on catwalks are not the only under the spotlights.
The true protagonists are among the public which crowds front rows.
They're those almost magic creatures who can make the shows be overshadowed with their outfit only. The ones bloggers would kill to take pictures of. They're off-duty models, actresses, fashion editors, it girls... Call them as you prefer: they're the true icons of our time.
This year, though, something isn't right with them. To pose wearing just light and short dresses (without tights!), under the snowfall, is for mad people!! To wear the next season collections (2013 spring-summer) is a must-do, but this is too much!! I agree with Garance Dorè: to wear inappropriately is not "trending". Such as teeth-chattering in front of a fashion show entrance!!
Cold is an easy to move around obstacle. You just need style and fantasy.
Soft and precious patterns which hug us exist. The goal is to mix them in the best way!!

Leather + faux fur + camouflage

Se c'è un cosa che proprio mi piace è creare outfit sovrapponendo vari pezzi e giocando con gli abbinamenti. Per esempio, in queste foto, mi cimento con un fashion remix, adottato per la prima volta, per caso, mentre ero di fretta e già in ritardo (come sempre!) per un appuntamento. Mi è bastato scegliere due dei miei pezzi preferiti (il blouson di pelle e il gilet di faux fur), et voilà! 

Ovviamente non ho sempre la fortuna di dar vita ad un look originale al momento giusto: è questione di attimi, folgorazioni. Quando manca l'ispirazione, però, è meglio non esagerare e buttarsi sui classici: così non si sbaglia mai!

Diffidare, comunque e sempre, dai total look. Di marca, di colore, di stile: il troppo stroppia e spesso diventa ridicolo. Ad esempio, un conto è indossare un abito a trapezio dall'allure vagamente Sixties, un altro e trasformarsi in "Twiggy 2 - La vendetta"!! Ho reso l'idea?!

I like a lot to create outfits putting on different kind of clothes and playing with combinations. For example, in these photos, I wear a fashion remix adopted, for the first time, by chance, when I was in late (as usual!) for a meeting. Choosing two of my favourite items (the leather jacket and a faux fur waistcoat) was enough.

Obviously, I'm not always lucky in creating original outfits at the right moment: it's matter of chance. When inspiration is lacking, though, it's better not to exaggerate: simplicity never fails!

However, always beware of total looks of brand,of colour, of style: excess is bad. For example: wearing a Sixties style dress is very far from becoming the new Twiggy!! Have I been clear?!

Pantone 17-5641

Pantone è stata chiara: il 17-5641 è il colore del 2013. Questo codice vi dice poco? Indica semplicemente lo smeraldo, la nobile e vibrante sfumatura di verde, assoluta protagonista di queste foto di moda, che ci accompagnerà per tutto l'anno.
Tornata in auge, già da qualche anno, col diverso nome di "verde petrolio", questa tinta ha conquistato tutti, fino ad arrivare, dritta dritta, sulle passerelle di alta moda.
Gli stilisti, per la primavera-estate, infatti, non hanno esitato neanche un momento a scegliere lo smeraldo come filo conduttore delle proprie collezioni.
Nessun tessuto, drappeggio, decoro o texture ne è immune: pure la pelle si tinge di verde, dando forma a blouson over e gonne a matita, per Sportmax, e ad accessori dall'allure classica, come la tracolla da postino, per Gucci.  
Chissà perchè la scelta di Pantone è ricaduta proprio sul 17-5641... Perchè il verde è il colore della speranza? Perchè in tempi di crisi si rinuncia alle pietre preziose ma ne si portano le sfumature sugli abiti? Strategie di marketing? Nessuno probabilmente lo saprà mai, ma indosserà dei capi in tinta. Questo è poco, ma sicuro.

Pantone chose: 17-5641 is the colour of 2013. Does this code mean nothing for you? It just specifies emerald, the noble shade of green, absolute protagonist of these fashion photos, which will with us through the whole year.
This colour conquered everyone, until it reached haute couture catwalks.
Designers, for this spring-summer season, in fact, have never hesitated to choose emerald as main colour of their collections.
No one fabric, texture, decoration is immune to it: even leather becomes green, giving shape to jackets and pencil-skirts, for Sportmax, and to rètro accessories, like the postman's satchel, for Gucci.
Who knows why Pantone chose 17-5641... Maybe because green is the colour of hope? Because in crisis times we renounce to precious jems, but not to their shades? Marketing strategies? Probably no one will ever know it, but he/she will wear emerald items. For sure.
