Simple is better - Fashion Week Street Style

Dimenticatevi gli improbabili ed eccentrici look che una volta eravamo abituati a vedere nei front row delle sfilate. Quest'anno - se si vogliono escludere le solite note, eccessive e di dubbio gusto, ahimè onnipresenti - gli outfit scelti da blogger, buyer e fashion editor sono apparsi più rilassati, meno psichedelici e urlati.

Semplicità è la parola giusta per descrivere il mood degli addetti ai lavori. 

Le hoodies, pratiche e versatili, erano ovunque, portate su gonne e pantaloni, sotto giacche o giubbotti da biker.

I jeans, invecchiati, rovinati o distrutti, hanno sostituito alla grande pezzi ben più eleganti, senza mai risultare fuori luogo. Il denim, tessuto easy per eccellenza e capace di sdrammatizzare ogni look, infatti, non tradisce mai!

Non sono state avvistate macchie di colore al neon o fantasie optical. Molte hanno preferito, al contrario, il color block e la tinta unita!

Cosa sarà successo? Il circo della moda vuole assomigliare meno ad un circo? La sobrietà fa finalmente rima con vanità? Non credo. 

Forse qualcuna si è resa conto che, in fondo, sotto i riflettori, durante la fashionweek, ci sono i vestiti in passerella. 

Forse qualcun'altra, pensando alla media di cinque defilè al giorno in agenda, ha scelto la comodità.

Vedetela come volete, comunque le simples c'est chic.

Forget about the absurd and eccentric looks we were used to see at runway front rows. This year - if you want to exclude the trashy ones who, unluckily, are always present - bloggers, buyers and fashion editors chose more relaxed and less psychedelic outfits. 

Simplicity is the right word to describe this mood.

Comfortable and versatile hoodies were everywhere, worn on skirts and trousers, under blazers and leather jackets.

Old and destroyed jeans, the easiest garments in the world, replaced cooler clothes without ever being out. Denim never betrays!

No neon colours or optical patterns were spotted.

What happened? Is chasteness the new vanity? I don't think so.

Maybe, someone understood the true fashion weeks protagonists are the clothes presented on the catwalks.

Maybe, someone else, thinking of their incredible agendas - full of appointments and shows all the day long, chose comfort.

You're free to think what you want, but le simples c'est chic.

Roaring back to school

Avete presente Katy Perry che si aggira nella fintissima giungla-scenario del suo ultimo video? Ecco, è così che ci si sente quando si torna all'università dopo mesi di ozio.
Prima si è là, spaparanzati sotto il sole, in spiaggia, ma qualche istante dopo, di botto, ci si ritrova rinchiusi tra quattro mura (magari sotto terra) in aule affollatissime, dove la "caccia al posto" diventa sport nazionale.
Come non parlare, poi, della mandria di matricole impazzite che vagano senza meta per la facoltà?
E dell'interminabile session di saluti a questo o quello? (non sono cattiva, è che sono un po' orso: chiedo venia).
Se vogliamo escludere i prof svogliati o isterici che, ahimè, a volte capitano...
La parola di inizio anno è appunto "Roar"! Sarà che quasi quotidianamente sento ruggire Katy Perry dall'autoradio, ma dobbiamo sopravvivere alla brusca fine dell'estate, in qualche modo!

Do you remember Katy Perry hanging around in a too fake jungle, scenery of her last video? That is how it feels to come back to university after months of holiday.
One day you are sunbathing on the beach, the day after, you're in a class (maybe underground) full of people who'd kill for the best seats.
And what about the rookies who don't find the right classes and ask you for anything?
And about all those people to say hello to? (sorry, I'm not bad, I'm just a bit grump).
If we want to exclude the professors which aren't always the best..
The word of the year is "Roar"! Maybe because, almost everyday, I hear Katy Perry shouting it from my car radio... We need to live through the end of the holidays, in some ways!

Hoodies mon amour

Di questi tempi, in cui crolla ogni certezza e anche il cachemire fa i pallini, non ci rimane che fermarci, prendere fiato e ritrovare noi stessi.

In periodi difficili e incostanti come quello che stiamo vivendo, basta ritornare con la mente alle origini. Recuperare dal passato i giorni nei quali la comodità era l'unica cosa che contava davvero e la praticità un must. Ricordare quando, alle elementari, ci disfavamo volentieri delle rigide divise scolastiche (tutte camicette e maglioncini stretti) per sostuirle con morbide e calde felpe con o senza cappuccio...

Queste sono le memorie che le fashioniste cercano di far riaffiorare, in tempi di recessione.

Perchè riempirsi gli armadi di scialbi cardigan in misto lana o sborsare fortune per capi in cachemire, che, ad un'occhiata più attenta, si rivelano ben presto 99% acrilico? 

Perchè assicurarsi arrossamenti sulla pelle e sembrare rigidi manichini per indossare l'ultimo coat di maglia che punge? 

Perchè continuare a dire che la lana tiene più caldo di una morbida felpa doppiata?

Le hoodies, uno di quei rari esempi di easy chic per tutte, non sono mai state così di moda. 

Dimenticatevi le forme sgraziate e le tinte imbarazzanti che la nostra infanzia ci imponeva.

Le nuove felpe sono sciancrate, decorate e si portano dalla mattina alla sera (vedi il cocktail look di Proenza Schouler). 

Sono molto couture, se si vuole usare un solo termine, spopolano tra le star (Rihanna impazzisce per quelle di Rodarte) e nemmeno i red carpet ne sono immuni.  

Vi sembrano troppo sportive o maschili? Non avete mai provato ad abbinarle con una maxi-collana (Shourouk) o non avete mai visto in giro cosa un po' di pizzo o delle paillettes possono fare.

Hoodies make us think of childhood, of those days when, at primary school, we threw our uniforms away to wear more comfortable and softer sweatshirts. 

In these times of crisis, when all the sure is unsure and also cachemire becomes matted, coming back to the starts is the best thing to do. 

Nowadays, hoodies aren't oversize and bad looking as we remember: the best noun to call them with is Couture. Lace, glitter and sequins make them the must-have of the season, a garment to wear all the day long (have a look of the fw collection by Proenza Schouler).

If you think they're a little too boyish, try them with a maxi-necklace (Shourouk). Believe me!
