Actually what I liked the most about perfumes were their bottles. Marketing theories say package is everything and I totally agreed with it.
But why am I write at past tense?
Because, recently, I found out how important is the sense of smell in our everyday lives. We all focus on sight, the most immediate and superficial of the five senses, forgetting that personal and intimate side which characterizes everyone of us.
Skins have got their own smell, that distinguishes one from the others, and no one perfume, even if famous and sold in million of bottles, will assume the same scent on differnt people.
As I read some days ago on a research, the essence we emanate is responsible of attracting (or rejecting) people. For example, we can't fall in love with a person if we don't like his (or her) smell (so, an advice: wash youself! No one likes bad smelling people!).
What's better than perfumes, then, to evocate stories and memories?
During the springtime, we need lighter clothes and fresher scents, which make us think of flowered fields, sea breeze, happy moments...
Even if I don't leave J'adore L'Or by Dior, according to me the best perfume in the world, in this period, See by Chloè is my favourite one. It makes me think about my childhood, the odorous air of parks, clean clothes and those mornings when you can sleep until midday...
Every perfume tells you a story, like a person who sits in front of you for the first time, a picture in an art gallery, a music which is irradiated in the air, a sky coloured by the thousands shades of sunset... Only you have to choose to listen to it or not.
